Okay, so top scientists seem to have decided that global warming has crossed the proverbial Rubicon. Dubya says he isn't convinced that global warming even exists. Dubya is the president of the United States, the single largest producer of the harmful greenhouse gases that cause global warming. Dubya also refused to sign on to the Kyoto protocol that would have made the US a less polluting nation.

So, America is single-handedly destroying the world. I've never been more ashamed of my country than I am now.

How much longer do you think this country will pretend not to be a bad guy? It was built upon carnage and betrayal, war and treason, after all.

Don't forget, we're not the only ones consuming as assload or resources. China's booming economy is providing decent competition in the asshole-pollution department.

Yeah, you're right. And China also burns more coal than any other nation on the planet, if memory serves.

Having the largest population also means China's the world's largest producer of poo gas.

I'm actually pretty sure the scientific evidence for global warming sums up to this:

The earth's temperature has risen an eighth of a degree over the last couple hundred years.

And that's probably simply due to a normal temperature shift anyway.

I don't mean to be a dick, I'm just stating actual facts...
It just so happens that this ridiculous hippie theory gained popularity at the time when the earth decided to warm up a bit, for the next millenia.

=/

P.S. I am with you on the fact that the US is a bunch of wasteful fuckbags, but I really think that goes with being a "civilized" nation.

So the fifteen degree rise in record temperature and the melting together of all the seasons is strictly localized to the southeastern US? I told our congressman we were doing something wrong.

Even though the U.S. did not sign the Kyoto treaty, there are several U.S. cities who decided to pretend like the U.S. did sign the treaty. And as a result those cities have saved lots of money and energy. Ok I'm writing my city officials. Even though I'm in Texas, it couldn't hurt.

You sure? The administration might send someone after you, likely as not. O_O
